Faithful in Prayer

“Rejoice in hope, endure in affliction, persevere in prayer.” Romans 12:12

Prayer Intentions:

“Intercession is a prayer of petition which leads us to pray as Jesus did. He is the one intercessor with the Father on behalf of all, especially sinners (CCC 2634).” We invite those visiting this page to submit their prayer intentions. Through prayer, we join in a spiritual communion that strengthens us during difficult times. You may choose to have your prayer appear online or not. If you choose to do so, your prayers will appear with your first name only.

Please also pray for the intentions of others on this page.   You may indicate your prayers for another person’s intentions by clicking the “I Will Be Praying for These Intentions” button.

In addition to the staff of the Archdiocese and visitors to the page who offer to pray for those who submit intentions, the Trappist monks at the Abbey of Gethsemani in Trappist, Kentucky will be praying for these intentions. We are grateful to the monks for this ministry of prayer for the people of the Archdiocese of Louisville.

“Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16.

Margie

Please pray for my family and I and for peace and forgiveness for how I treated them in the past.

Grace

I want to send prayers out to those who are feeling discouragement, fear, anxiety, and hopelessness, and to people who are suffering with illness, lack of food, addiction, homelessness, and more. I pray, also, that I may put my faith in God, to help take away this anxiety and sense of dread that I often feel. I need peace.

Susan

Please pray for my alcoholic son to find his path to sobriety and change his heart and mind from the decision to divorce his loving and now heartbroken wife and two young sons.

Sister Baldy

I have been diagnosed with a brain condition that causes difficulty with balance and with speech. It has caused much grief, as I cannot serve or do ministry, so I would ask that there be some type of healing so I may drive and begin again to serve my God and my fellow human beings. I know it will be a type of miracle but I am ready for one! Thank you!

Dee

Please pray for my son, Gabe. He is so lost; he is miserable. And, he's trapped in the throes of alcohol addiction. May he always know that he is loved by God and by us. Please pray also for my husband and me, that we will open ourselves to God's guidance and respond to Gabe's needs in a Godly way always.

Sharon

Please pray for my niece, whose infant was stillborn yesterday at 24 weeks.

Cara

Please pray for the Uricheck family, as they are fighting the Coronavirus.

Teachers

Please pray for teachers. We are struggling this year with doing what is best for our students while maintaining healthy relationships with our family at home and taking care of ourselves so that we can be the best parents, friends, teachers, etc.  Pray that we may quell the daily anxiety of whether or not we are doing enough to protect our loved ones from COVID-19, while also doing our best to educate.  Please pray for our mental health, as it is in a fragile state of balance.

Sue

Prayers for my adult son that they find a cure for his chronic back pain. He has been sober for over 3 years and is hesitant to take pain medicine. Thank you!

James

Please pray to our Lord and Savior, on my behalf, to purge cancer from my body, and that of my family and loved ones, and JG, without the harmful effects of cancer treatment and to restore health to me, my family, and loved ones.  I also petition God to protect me, my family, loved ones, neighbors, church and world families from the effects and spread of the Coronavirus.  Bring a quick and merciful end to the effects and spread of the virus.  Heal my soul and body.

Angie

Please pray for Larry, who has major cancer surgery on Thursday.

Gary

Please pray for the children and adults in our communities who are hungry every day in a country of wealth and resources.

Little Sisters of the Poor

Prayers for nearly 11,000 elderly residents, our lay health care staff and Little Sisters in 164 Homes throughout the world during this long period of pandemic. Thankfully, a large number have not contracted the virus overall, but the emotional suffering associated with strict physical restrictions from public health agencies, social isolation, and unprecedented religious worship guidelines place a heavy pall over everyone. All are courageous & resilient but prayers are powerful. God bless.

Jim

Please pray for my health as it is getting worse with the rain and colder weather. I was recently diagnosed with possible having rheumatoid arthritis and will see a specialist in a couple of weeks to see how bad it is.  Please pray that it can be treated easily.  Thank you.
