Statement from Archbishop Shelton J. Fabre on Plant Explosion in Clifton Neighborhood

I am saddened by the news of the deadly explosion at Givaudan Sense Colour in the Clifton neighborhood. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the two people who were killed and those that were injured.

I am grateful for the dedicated first responders and their heroic actions following the explosion.

Please join me in praying for those who died, those who were injured, and the Clifton community.

St. Albert the Great Catholic School Wins 2024 National Blue Ribbon Award

September 23, 2024 (Louisville, Ky.) The United States Department of Education has announced that St. Albert the Great Catholic School has been recognized as a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School by U.S. Secretary of Education Dr. Miguel Cardona. St. Albert the Great, located at 1395 Girard Drive, is a three-time recipient of this award. The school was also recognized in 2004 and 2015.

Archbishop Shelton Fabre Ordains Five Men to the Priesthood

May 22, 2024 (Louisville, KY) – On Saturday, June 1, 2024, Archbishop Shelton J. Fabre will ordain Deacons Matthew Heath. Millay, Kenneth Brian Nauert, Jr., Michael Louis Schultz, Van Dung Tran, and Yen Van Tran to the diocesan priesthood for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Louisville. The ordination will take place at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church (3705 Stone Lakes Drive, Louisville).

Archdiocese of Louisville Celebrates Catholic Schools Week

January 23, 2024 (Louisville, Ky.) –Students, families, pastors, faculty and staff at 48 Catholic elementary and secondary schools in the Archdiocese of Louisville will join dioceses throughout the nation in celebrating Catholic Schools Week from January 28-February 3, 2024. The national theme for this year’s Catholic Schools Week is “Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community.”
