The Archdiocese of Louisville has adopted an administrative model that divides the parishes into eight deaneries. Each deanery is led by a dean who was appointed by Archbishop Shelton J. Fabre to serve as his representative in their respective deanery. As the deanery model is rooted in canon law, the deans have specific canonical authority and responsibilities. Additionally, the eight deans will serve as a consultative body to the archbishop.
